The Matador Scholar Academy The GATEway to Your Future! -------------------------------------------- Welcome Parents and Students! The Matador Scholar Academy is the honors path at LMHS for those students who want to be challenged academically, be well prepared for college, and wish to earn college credit while still in high school. All students who wish to take honors or AP level courses at LMHS must apply and be accepted into the Matador Scholar Academy before they register for these courses. Students may take as few or as many Academy courses as they wish but there will be special recognition at graduation and on student transcripts for students who meet the academy special recognition criteria. Our Academy Goals are to: 1. Prepare students for future academic success in college and beyond 2. Meet the individual interests of all GATE and honors students 3. Inspire students to seek a wide variety of new experiences 4. Encourage students to become well-rounded individuals who demonstrate academic diversity and are involved in LMHS outside of the classroom 5. Want to improve your chances of getting into the college of your choice? Then you need to know more about the CAS experience! Mrs. Shackleton will be meeting with the class of 2013 in room 560 during lunch on 2/16 and 2/17 to discuss CAS requirements. Don't miss out on this life changing experience!
